Top things to do in Nadi and why you shouldn't miss it!
Why Nadi Deserves a Spot on Your Bucket List
Nadi has that laid-back island vibe we all crave, with plenty of activities to keep you busy when you’re not basking in the sun. Plus, it’s budget-friendly, super accessible, and full of Fijian charm. Oh, and did I mention the sunsets? Pure magic. Imagine ending your day with the sky turning every shade of orange and pink, cocktail in hand.
What to Do in Nadi for first timers:
1. Visit the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple:
Kickstart your Nadi adventure with some serious temple vibes. This Hindu temple, with its rainbow-colored towers and peaceful atmosphere, will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. It’s the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and it’s stunning. Don’t forget to dress modestly (leave the beachwear at the hotel for this one).
2. Mud Pool and Hot Springs Therapy:
The Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool is a must! Coat yourself in mineral-rich mud, dry off in the sun, and then soak in the steamy hot springs to wash it all away. It’s like a Fijian spa day. When I was there I hd the place almost to myself which is pretty rare for such a cool place. They also offer massages you can book when you get there. I did not have time for one, but I am sure it would have been the perfect end to my stop there.
3. Garden of the Sleeping Giant:
Channel your inner botanist at this gorgeous garden that used to be the private collection of actor Raymond Burr. It’s a peaceful place to wander, and there’s nothing quite like getting lost among the orchids, ferns, and lily ponds. If you walk the furthest in to the garden you will also be able to walk up a hill and get a beautiful scenic view of Nadi.
4. Hop Over to Denarau Island:
Denarau is where you can get your luxury fix. It’s home to fancy resorts and a marina where you can book all sorts of fun water adventures. Whether it’s jet-skiing, sailing, or just a lazy sunset cruise, this place has you covered. If you have planed to stay at some of the other islands as well, tis is the place where you will catch a boat to get there. Make sure to organize a transfer to the island you are staying at beforehand. This place also offers different daytrips to smaller islands. So if you want to make your stay in Fiji mre budget friendly a tip is to stay in Nadi and do a couple of daytrips to the places you want to see. Accomodations on the other islands are a lot pricier. But it might also be worth it for a couple of days!
How to see all this?
I reccomend either renting a car, which you can do here. Its very easy to drive around the island yourself and you will have all the time you need to see the different locations. Another option is to book it as a tour like this one.
