If you want to experience something completely different on your next trip to Hanoi, you need to check out the X Space Immersive Experience. It’s colourful, creative, playful, and unlike anywhere else I visited in Vietnam. In short this is an attraction that swaps ancient history for cutting-edge technology, projection mapping, digital art, and interactive installations.

We’d seen all the historic sights in Hanoi and wanted to do something completely different. Something fun. That’s when we decided to visit Space X Immersive.

I didn’t know much about it before we went, but it looked like a good time, so off we went. I’m so glad we did, because it was one of the most fun days we had in Hanoi.

We stayed much longer than planned, I found myself laughing like a kid in several of the rooms, and left with hundreds of really cool photos and videos.

So, if you've seen the historic highlights in Hanoi and are looking for something different. Or if you’re visiting Hanoi on a rainy day, travelling with kids and want to plan a fun day for them, then this is truly an amazing activity to add to your itinerary.

What Is X Space Immersive Hanoi?

In short X Space Immersive is an interactive digital art experience where you don’t just look at the exhibit, you become part of it.

This is done with a combination of mirrors, projection mapping, music, light effects, and motion-based technology.

There are various rooms designed differently where you can either just explore or play and interact. For example, one of them is like stepping into a kaleidoscope and another lets you create butterflies with your fingertips. There’s even some very relaxing rooms, so they have something for everyone.

My Honest Experience Visiting X Space Immersive

I genuinely had no idea what to expect before visiting X Space Immersive. And I definitely hadn't expected it to be as much fun as it was.

There are eight rooms in total, and not one of them felt repetitive. Some were calm and beautiful, with dreamy lights and visuals that you could honestly just stand and watch for ages. Others were much more interactive and I found myself running around in what looked like space.

X Space Immersive gave me multiple “WOW” Moments

The second I walked into the first room, I had one of those “wow” moments I always look for when travelling, and knew that this was going to be a fun day!

I was surrounded by colourful projections and it felt like something straight out of Alice in Wonderland.

Then I was directed towards an incredible mirror room that almost feels like you’re standing inside a kaleidoscope. It kept changing patterns and colours so walking into it was so much fun.

The illusion makes it look like it goes on forever. I don’t know how long we spent here, but we kept going in and out because I’ve never seen anything like it before.

And the funny thing was that “wow” feeling just kept happening. Every time we walked into a new room, there was something completely different waiting for us.

I also loved that there was no pressure to rush. We wandered back into several rooms simply because we wanted to experience them again or capture them from a different perspective.

And if you get a little lost or unsure what a room is about there is someone there to help you out if you need it.

I Felt Like A Kid Again In Some Of The Rooms

In one room, touching the wall made butterflies appear around my hand, while in another I could tap jellyfish and watch them burst into bubbles.

It sounds simple, but it was surprisingly addictive, and I found myself playing around way longer than I expected. I kept looking for jellyfish to appear so I could turn them into bubbles.

And the jungle themed room with the butterflies was so beautiful I could've stayed for a really long time just watching the various scenes with waterfalls and wildlife.

In yet another room there's a big plasma globe where bolts of electricity follow your fingertips when you touch the glass, and I couldn't resist playing with it for a while. This isn't where I spent the most time, but it was really fun to try and move the light with my fingers.

I don’t have kids, but I kept thinking about my nieces and nephew and how much they would have loved this place. Because if I’m having this much fun as an adult, I can only imagine what it’s like to experience it as a child.

Some Rooms Almost Feel Meditative

While some of the rooms were very interactive, some rooms felt peaceful and just beautiful.

It’s hard to pick a favourite room, but one of mine was definitely the one with the glowing tree. There was something so magical and peaceful about it that I could have sat there forever just watching the lights slowly change colour.

Another highlight was the mirror room with hundreds of glowing lights hanging from the ceiling. Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling mirrors, the space felt completely endless, creating the illusion of walking through an infinite galaxy of floating lights.

There Are Even Places To Relax

And then there was the beanbag room. Huge beanbags are spread across the floor, and different movies are projected onto the ceiling above you.

After wandering through lots of rooms with lights and visual effects, it was the perfect place to just lie down and relax for a bit. I ended up staying there much longer than I’d planned because it was just so peaceful.

A woman working there told me people sometimes fall asleep there, and honestly… I get it. Those beanbags are dangerously comfortable.

The Grand Finale

Even though I loved all the various rooms for different reasons, the last room topped everything.
You walk into a room where massive projections surround you from every angle and the room is transformed into different worlds every few minutes.

One moment I was wandering through picturesque Vietnamese streets lined with lotus flowers, the next I was walking amongst dinosaurs in what looked like Jurassic Park.

As fun as those scenes were, my favorite sequences were the ones inspired by space and galaxies. It genuinely felt like being transported somewhere else.

Combined with the music playing throughout the room, the whole experience felt almost otherworldly, as though you'd stepped into a movie rather than an exhibition.

The only thing to keep I mind here is that it actually feels so real that it made me a bit dizzy. I got used to it within a couple of minutes, but the first time I stepped in I looked like someone walking wobbly around in space. Which was probably fun for the people watching.

One of the best Things To Do In Hanoi When It Rains

If you've spent any time in Vietnam, or South East Asia for that matter, you'll know that the weather doesn't always cooperate with sightseeing plans.

Sudden downpours can interrupt a day exploring the Old Quarter or visiting outdoor attractions, while the summer heat can become intense by midday.

Because the entire experience takes place indoors, it's one of the best rainy-day activities in Hanoi. So even if you don’t add Space X Immersive as one of your must visit spots in Hanoi, it’s nice to know about if you need to change up your plans to escape the weather one day.

One Of The Most Instagrammable Places In Hanoi

Let's be honest, some places look like they were made for social media, and X Space Immersive is one of them.

Almost every room offers an incredible backdrop, whether it's glowing neon lights, mirrored spaces, digital projections, or incredible visual effects.

As someone who creates travel content, I found myself stopping constantly to take pictures and film reels. The variety of backgrounds means your content never feels repetitive, and there's plenty of room to get creative with different angles and movements.

If you like taking photos, you’re going to have the best time here.

Is X Space Immersive suitable for children?

Yes, it’s perfect for kids!

Unlike many art galleries where children are expected to stay quiet and avoid touching anything, X Space encourages exploration. The colorful visuals, moving projections, and interactive elements naturally capture children's attention and make the experience feel playful rather than educational.

I think parents looking for family-friendly activities in Hanoi may find this to be a welcome change from traditional sightseeing, especially if their children need a break from temples and museums.

Is it Worth Going to X Space Immersive for Teenagers and Adults?

Although it's family-friendly, I wouldn't describe X Space as just a children's attraction. After all, I’m 36 and I had an absolute blast.

I think teenagers will have endless fun here creating various social media content if that’s something they like, or just come here purely for fun.

It’s also perfect for couples looking for a date night or relaxed afternoon together.

I really think it’s one of those rare attractions that manages to entertain different age groups for different reasons. And it just works for everyone.

How Long Should You Spend At X Space Immersive?

This really depends, and I ended up spending much longer than I’d imagined.

If you set aside 1 hour you’ll get to explore the area, see all the rooms and take some pictures without rushing. But you could easily spend more time if you want to relax in the bean bags, take some extra pictures and visit some of the rooms multiple times like we did.

Many of the rooms change while you’re in them, so if you want to see all the various designs I would recommend setting aside more time.

It’s also nice to know that the mall it’s located in is absolutely massive so if you come here you can choose to spend a whole day either adding some shopping, grab some food at the food court or enjoy some of the other activities they have here like box dancing or ice skating just to name a few.

Is X Space Immersive Worth Visiting?

In my opinion, yes!

Would I recommend replacing Hanoi’s temples or street food with X Space? Of course not. You can’t come to Hanoi without experiencing the history and culture. But I absolutely think it deserves a place alongside them.

For me, it was a welcome change of pace from wandering temples and busy streets. I loved how interactive it was, how many incredible photo opportunities it offered, and how accessible it felt for visitors of all ages.

If the weather turns bad, if you’re traveling with children or if you simply enjoy creative experiences that are a little outside the ordinary, X Space Immersive is one of the best indoor attractions in Hanoi in my opinion.

If you're on the fence about visiting, I'd say go for it.

It's fun, it's different, it's great for all ages, and it's one of those places that's hard to explain until you see it for yourself.

And if you look at my photos and videos from the day, you'll probably see that I had an absolute blast.

I hope this helps you plan your trip to Hanoi and Vietnam. If you have any questions about travel in Vietnam, or just want to follow along as I travel the world full time, don‘t hesitate to reach out to me on social media. I would love to connect and help out!
