After exploring Caye Caulker in depth in 2025, I decided to put together a list of what I think are the best places to eat and drink in Caye Caulker. I have personally tried and tested all of them. I definitely tried more, but these are the ones I think are worth sharing. Whether you’re backpacking through Belize or planning a romantic escape there is something here for every budget.
Best places for breakfast, lunch and snacks in Caye Caulker
Ice and Beans cafe
Definitely my favorite place in Caye Caulker, but it’s mostly breakfast and lunch food. They have delicious bagels, waffles, smoothies, and yogurt. After trying a few different breakfast spots, we ended up coming back here almost every day… and sometimes again for a snack or lunch.
They also have the BEST fresh doughnuts, you absolutely have to try them.
There’s a bar next door that shares the outdoor area, so if you’re in the mood for a drink or beer, you can enjoy it in one of the best chill-out spots on the island. There are hammocks and colorful chairs set up right by the beach—it’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the view.

Namaste Café
Another great spot for breakfast or lunch. This adorable café serves bagels, smoothies, healthy bowls, sandwiches, and pastries. The watermelon salad with feta was incredible!
They also offer yoga for all levels upstairs. I didn’t try it myself, but it looked like a peaceful and well-organized class.
The Creamery Ice Cream Shop
The ice cream here is amazing! It’s just a small hut, but they seem to have new flavors almost every day. At least they had something new every time I went. Everything I tried was delicious and an added bonus is that they also make their own homemade cones.

Chef Kareem’s UnBelizeable Lunch
This place is a local legend, and once you try it, you’ll understand why. Chef Kareem serves up some of the best Caribbean street food I’ve ever had. It’s not fancy, it’s just really good food served from a colorful little stand across from the basketball court.
The jerk chicken is smoky, spicy, and falls off the bone, and the portions are big enough to share which is always a plus for the budget.
Best places for dinner and sunset in Caye Caulker
Il Pellicano Cucina Italiana
Definitely my favorite place for dinner in Caye Caulker. It’s the best Italian food we tried on the island, maybe even all of Central America. Both the pizza and the pastas were amazing. We came back multiple times and even tried to go on our last night, but unfortunately, they were closed. Mondays are apparently their day off even though it says it‘s open on Google.
The atmosphere is also fantastic! The cozy interior and all the greenery make it a really inviting space. Highly recommend this one!

Barefoot Caribe Bar and Grill
This place is surprisingly often empty, and I have no idea why. We ate here four times, and the food was always amazing—we tried a lot of different things, and everything was delicious.
The key lime pie is also to die for! Honestly, we came once just for dessert.
The interior inside is a bit plain, but the outdoor seating makes up for it. There are hammocks and beach views, and you get a nice breeze in the evening.

Roy’s Blue Water Grill
We almost skipped this place because they have a bouncer—and I usually avoid places that need to rope people in. But it was packed with people, and the barbecue outside smelled like heaven, so we gave it a shot.
And wow, it was so worth it. Everything from the grill was absolutely delicious.
Just a heads up: it gets busy, so you’ll need to be patient when waiting for your food. So don’t pick this one if you’re already crazy hungry. Also, you’ll probably leave smelling like barbecue.

Wish Willy Bar & Grill
Wish Willy’s feels like you’ve been invited to a friend’s backyard barbecue. There’s no printed menu, no set schedule, and no stress. You sit down, ask what they’re making and enjoy. It can be anything from lobster or snapper to juicy ribs.
Pro tip: It’s BYOB, which makes dinner feel even more like a casual hangout. Just grab a few Belikins or a bottle of rum beforehand and bring your own drinks.
The Pelican Sunset Bar
We only came for drinks here, but the people around us were raving about the ceviche. Either way, it’s the coziest spot to watch the sunset over the ocean in my opinion.
They have Happy Hour from 4 to 5 p.m., so get there early, grab a comfy chair, and enjoy the view. The drinks were also great!

Pasta Per Caso
Okay, so this might sound strange, but I’m mentioning this place even though I personally thought the food was just okay.
That said, everyone else around me was raving about it, so maybe I just caught it on an off night. They only serve two dishes per day, one vegetarian and one with meat or seafood. It might’ve just been bad luck with what was on the menu that day.
It’s also the only place where it seemed like you needed a reservation. We got lucky by coming early, but it filled up quickly.
So even though I wouldn’t go back personally, I’m including it here because it might be your thing, or at least worth checking out.
The Lazy Lizard at The Split
You haven’t really been to Caye Caulker until you’ve had a drink at The Lazy Lizard. It’s the most famous bar on the island. Yes, it’s touristy, but it’s also super fun, and the location is unbeatable.
Located on the edge of “The Split” (where the island is literally split in two), this is where many people come to swim, lounge in the sun, sip a cocktail, and relax. I’ve lost count of how many times we came here, but I still never got tired of it.

I hope this helps you find some amazing places to eat and drink in Caye Caulker. If you have any questions or need help planning your trip to Belize, don’t hesitate to reach out to me on social media. I would love to connect and help you out!
