So, if you're planning a trip to Gili Trawangan and wondering what the best restaurants on the island are in 2026, I’ve got you covered.
Of course I didn’t have a chance to try absolutely every restaurant, but we ate all our meals out for two weeks and below are the spots we ended up coming back to because the food was super good and the atmosphere really nice.
In this guide, I'm sharing all of my favourite places to eat and drink on Gili Trawangan, whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a simple coffee break.
Best Places to Eat on Gili Trawangan: My Favourite Restaurants, Cafés & Bars
In my personal experience it seemed like the restaurants around the harbour and along the west coast were a bit more expensive, without really delivering any higher quality. I found some great ones there as well, but the spots with the best food were definitely more in the middle of the island in my opinion.
Whether you're staying near the harbor or on the quieter side of the island, you'll never be far from somewhere good to eat.
Best Breakfast & Brunch spots on Gili Trawangan
There are countless spots on the island with great breakfast food and plenty of aesthetic places to grab a nice brunch. We tried as many as possible, but if I had to narrow it down, these are my favourite spots.
Crust Deli & Takeaway
This ended up being our favourite breakfast spot.
This small deli specializes in freshly made sandwiches and they have some truly good ones. After travelling Asia for a while it was so nice to get some truly good sandwiches with ham and cheese. They might look simple, but they tasted delicious.
They also have free delivery, so we ended up ordering sandwiches delivered to our hotel multiple times. The sandwiches are pretty huge so it’a also great value for money.

KOA Café
If you're in need of a caffeine fix, KOA Café is one of the best little coffee shops on Gili Trawangan. This small, cozy café is the perfect place to grab a quality cup of coffee before a day of exploring the island.
They don’t have anything other than coffee, but it’s a super cute spot located in the middle of the island with a couple of chairs outside. So it’s a nice spot for a break during the day. It’s worth noting that the coffee is on the pricier side compared to other spots on the island.

Hellocapitano Lifestyle Café
This is one I’d heard and read about before coming to Gili T and was almost hesitant to try because I thought it might be overhyped and just an instagram spot. However, it turned out to be a really cute spot with great breakfast options.
I absolutely loved the smoothie bowls here, and they serve them in coconuts which is always a cute idea. The decor is also very charming so I can see why it's a popular spot.

Amsterdam Restaurant
This is in my opinion one of the prettiest spots on the island, and it also has some really good food. We came here both for dinner and brunch and even though it was quite busy so we had to wait a while for our dinner I really liked it.
It’s tucked away inland and has a really peaceful setting overlooking the palm trees in the middle of the island.
For breakfast they have a “create your own” concept so it’s easy to just put together whatever you like. They have everything from pancakes and eggs to smoothie bowls. You either pick 3 or 5 things and just create your own brunch.
It’s not far from the west coast, so it’s perfect to come for dinner as well after watching the sunset.

Kayu Café
This is one of the island's most popular cafés, and I can absolutely understand why. They have a huge menu with everything from avocado toast, eggs Benedict, pancakes and smoothiebowls. If you're craving a healthy breakfast, you’ll no doubt find something you like here.

Best International restaurants on Gili Trawangan
One great thing about Gili T is that you can really find almost any kid of food you like. There’s lots of great warungs selling local food as well as plenty of international spots selling everything from ramen to pizza. And there is a surprising amount of Italian spots here, so if you're craving pizza you wont have any trouble finding a good spot. Below are the ones we kept coming back to after trying as much as possible.
I personally use SafetyWing and highly recommend it for every kind of trip. Check their prices & plans here.
L'Osteria dell'Isola
I think this is one of the islands best-kept secrets. Because it’s tucked away from all the main roads you wont stumble over it, you have to know it’s there to find it.
They serve traditional Italian cuisine made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and imported Italian specialties. The menu features everything from homemade pasta and wood-fired pizzas to artisanal cheeses, premium cured meats, and an excellent selection of wines.
If you've been craving a charcuterie board, this is a great spot. You can also come here to buy meats and cheese if you want to make something yourself or just bring some snacks to the beach.

Pizzeria Da Marco
If you're in the mood for authentic Italian pizza, Pizzeria Da Marco is one of the best places to eat on Gili Trawangan. This cozy, family-run restaurant is known for its traditional wood-fired pizzas, made with fresh ingredients and perfectly crisp, thin crusts.
Beyond pizza, you'll also find homemade pasta, fresh salads, classic Italian desserts, and a carefully selected wine list, making it a great choice whether you're after a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner.
I can’t say it’s the most charming spot on the island, but the food speaks for itself and we came back a couple of times for their carbonara and pizza.

Francesco's Pizza
This ended up being our favourite Italian restaurant on Gili Trawangan, and that’s saying something because there really are so many great ones here.
We came back here a couple of times and the food was always super good. Even when it was full of people things went quickly and the food was delicious.
The atmosphere here also feels very casual and welcoming and I saw that it was equally popular with backpackers as it was with families travelling with kids.

Tiki bar
If you're crawing tacos, this is the best spot on the island in my opinion. It’s a super cute spot located in the middle of the island and they sell mostly tacos in different forms along with lots of great drinks.
It’s a proper tiki bar with a really nice vibe in the evening, happy hours and various daily specials. We grabbed some tacos here either as snacks or dinner a couple of times and they were always really good.

Fat Cats Bar & Restaurant
This is honestly not a particularly charming spot, but if you're hungover or craving a juicy burger, this will definitely give you your fix.
Their burgers are among the biggest on the island, and the menu also includes tacos, sandwiches, loaded fries and wraps.
Best Local Restaurants in Gili Trawangan
As mentioned above, Gili T has a bit of everything. Below are some spots I would recommend if you're craving Indonesian or other Asian food. Some of these spots are also a bit more budget friendly if you're travelling on a tight budget.
Jali Kitchen
This is the place we ended up coming back to the most for dinner.
It’s located in a peaceful part of the island away from the busy beachfront so you wont stumble upon it unless you know where to look.
The menu combines Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, and Western flavors, with standout dishes including the homemade curries, beef rendang, pad Thai, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, and butter chicken. The last one being my absolute favourite dish!
There are also plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, making it a great choice for all types of travellers.
The atmosphere here is also really nice, especially in the evening with cosy lights everywhere. It's not a huge place so it be might be worth booking a table in advance, especially if you're more than two people. When we ate at the most poplar times we saw multiple people not getting tables if they hadn't booked in advance because it was full or already reserved.

Gili Trawangan Night Market
Although it's technically a collection of stalls rather than a single restaurant, the night market is one of the best places to eat local food on the island.
You'll find everything from fresh grilled fish, giant prawns, lobster, squid, satay skewers and fried rice, and much much more.
One tip is to walk around before choosing where to eat. Prices and seafood displays vary slightly between vendors, and it's worth comparing what's available.

Wayan’s Family restaurant
I think this is one of the best places to enjoy local food while on Gili T. It’s a family run restaurant that serves up freshly cooked dishes in huge portions, and the prices are very budget friendly.
They have all the classics like nasi goreng, mie goreng, chicken satay, beef rendang, grilled fish, and flavourful curries, all prepared using traditional recipes.
The atmosphere feels relaxed and homely. If you're looking for delicious local cuisine at affordable prices while supporting a local family business, Wayan's Family Restaurant is an easy recommendation.
