Finding the right place to stay in Curaçao can completely shape your trip. The island offers everything from lively beach resorts and boutique hotels to quiet villas tucked away near hidden coves. Depending on whether you want culture, nightlife, beaches, or serenity, Curaçao has an area that’s perfect for you.

In this guide, I’ll go through the best neighborhoods and why I recommend them, as well as hotel tips for every budget so you can pick the spot that suits your style and make the most of your time in Curaçao.

Willemstad – Culture, History, and Waterfront Vibes

Willemstad is the capital of Curaçao and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its colourful colonial buildings and lively waterfront. Staying here means you’re within walking distance of restaurants, boutiques and museums. This is where I chose to base myself and it was perfect for me. You can easily reach different areas of the island by car or bus, as well as explore the cozy town during day or night time. You'll have plenty of good restaurants with both local and international food to choose from. We stayed at the Ritz Village which was perfect for us who wanted to stay for a while. We had our own apartment with kitchen and garage as well as a very nice pool to relax by when we didn't want to drive to the beach.

Mambo Beach – Nightlife & Convenience

Mambo Beach is one of the busiest areas on the island, perfect for travellers who want nightlife, restaurants, and easy access to the Curaçao Sea Aquarium as well as the beach. The promenade is lined with shops, bars, and entertainment options, making it a lively choice. It's also very close to Willemstad if you want more variety in restaurants.

The beach is often quite busy because many cruise tourists come here for their one day on Curaçao, but if you're looking for some action, convenience and a nice beach it's a great spot.

For travellers seeking quiet, unspoiled beaches and nature, Westpunt is the best option. Located on the island’s northwest tip, it’s close to natural parks like Shete Boka National Park and secluded beaches like Playa Jeremi.
