On my recent visit to Greece I ended up spending most of my time in Paros, and I honestly never wanted to leave. I wandered through every charming village, relaxed at all the stunning beaches and tried more greek food than I've ever done before.
After exploring as much as I possible could, I’ve put together all my favourite sights, villages, beaches and much more here to make it easier for you to plan your upcoming trip to Greece and Paros.
The Best Things to Do in Paros
As always I’ll start with the fun part first, namely the top things to do in Paros. If you also want more practical information like my favourite restaurants, the places I recommend staying and more, just scroll further down and you’ll find everything you need to plan your perfect trip.
Wander Naoussa at Golden Hour
Naoussa is the heart of Paros, and where I recommend you base yourself. Even if you don’t decide to stay here, you need to visit this village at least once, and preferably at sunset.
The area is incredibly charming during the day as well, with white, narrow streets filled with charming shops and restaurants, and fishing boats bobbing along in the harbour.

However, it is around sunset that the true magic of Naoussa happens. The light turns soft gold, the restaurants set out candles along the water, and the entire harbor feels like a film set.
I recommend arriving before sunset and wandering without a plan. Get lost in the backstreets first. Then slowly make your way toward the harbour for dinner as the sun sets.

Explore Marpissa for a Quieter Feel
Marpissa is one of those villages people often skip — and that’s exactly why you shouldn’t. It feels authentic and residential, with narrow marble streets, hidden courtyards, and views over the eastern coastline.

Visit Prodromos - One of the Prettiest Hidden Villages
Prodromos might actually be one of the prettiest villages on the island.
White, narrow alleyways, flower-filled balconies and most likely not a single other tourist. When I visited I saw no tourists, just the locals sitting together and relaxing in the shade outside their houses.

It’s very small, so you can easily walk through it in under an hour — but that’s not the point. The point is to sit at a local café, order a drink or some snack, and just watch village life happen.
If you’re renting a car, combine Marpissa and Prodromos in one relaxed trip. You can also easily get here by bus from both Naoussa and Parikia, which is what I did.

Take a Boat Tour Around Paros & Antiparos
This is easily one of the best days you can have on the island.
Sailing around Paros and neighboring Antiparos gives you access to hidden caves, secret coves, swimming spots you simply can't reach by land and water so blue it almost looks edited. You’ll swim straight off the boat, snorkel in hidden bays, and spend hours just drifting.

Explore Antiparos for the Day
The tiny ferry ride to Antiparos takes about 10 minutes — and it’s absolutely worth it.
Antiparos is smaller and a bit slower than Paros. The main street is lined with boutiques and restaurants, but the island overall feels peaceful.

When you get of the ferry you can choose to either just wander to the nearby town centre and explore, rent a scooter or ATV to access some of the beaches, or jump on the hop-on hop-of bus that's waiting for people at the ferry stop.
I used the bus and it was super convenient. It took me to the huge caves Antiparos is known for, as well as the beautiful beach Soros and back to town for a late dinner.
It’s the perfect day trip from Paros, but if you have some extra time it’s worth spending a couple of nights here as well.

Take a Greek Cooking Class
One of the most underrated things to do in Paros is a hands-on cooking class.
Spending a few hours learning how to make traditional Greek dishes — like tzatziki, stuffed vine leaves, fresh salads, and homemade pies — gives you a deeper connection to the island beyond beaches and sunsets. Start with a visit to the market, learn to make some amazing food and enjoy it with a local family.
It’s personal, fun, and something you’ll actually bring home with you.

Visit Panagia Ekatontapiliani in Parikia
Panagia Ekatontapiliani in Parikia is one of Greece’s most important early Christian monuments. Dating back to the 4th century, it’s often called the “Church of 100 Doors.” The architecture is simple yet powerful, and it offers a peaceful break from the beach scene.
Even if you’re not into history, the architecture and peaceful courtyard are worth a short visit.

Explore the Mountain Village of Lefkes
Lefkes is another beautiful village to explore in Paros. This one is bigger than the ones already mentioned and a lot more popular. You will meet more tourists, but not huge crowds. Compared to the Marpissa and Prodromos there are more cafes and restaurants to choose from, as well as more to see, so you can easily spend a full day just wandering around this village.

Spend most of your time just wandering around, but make sure to head to Agia Triada Church, a beautiful church with amazing views at the top of the hill.

Walk the Byzantine Trail
One of the most peaceful and beautiful things you can do on Paros is walk the Byzantine Trail. This is an ancient marble footpath that connects the mountain villages of Lefkes and Prodromos. Today, it’s about a 3.5 km gentle walk through olive groves, wild herbs, dry stone walls, and open countryside with beautiful views toward the sea.
Explore Lefkes during the day and start hiking in the afternoon so you don’t have to walk in the scorching heat.

The Best Beaches in Paros
Paros has some of the most swimmable water in the Cyclades. It’s calm, warm, and incredibly clear. So bring a book and just relax.

Kolymbithres Beach
About a 10-minute drive from Naoussa, you’ll get to the stunning beach Kolymbithres. Instead of long stretches of sand, you’ll find smooth granite rock formations that create little natural swimming pools. The water is shallow, warm, and unbelievably clear and it’s perfect for just floating for hours. You can choose to explore the rock caves and formations for free or rent a couple of sunbeds.
If you're not renting a car or ATV you can also reach the beach by boat from Naoussa. Just walk to the harbour front and you'll easily find the boat leaving both to Kolymbithres and Monastiri.

Santa Maria Beach
Santa Maria Beach is larger than Kolymbithres, more social, and great if you want beach bars and music without Mykonos-level intensity. There are organized beach sections with sunbeds and music, but it never feels too intense. It’s a great all-day beach spot.

Naxos, Greece: The Ultimate Travel Guide to One of The Most Underrated Island in the Cyclades
Golden Beach
Golden Beach is known for windsurfing and wide sandy stretches. The beach is long, sandy, and feels more open than others on the island. It’s a great place for a quieter beach afternoon away from the busier northern coast.

Milos: The Ultimate Travel Guide to Greece’s Most Unique Island
Monastiri Beach
To get to Monastiri beach you can either drive or take a short ferry from Naoussa. The beach is dramatic, open, and a bit more rugged. You can choose to relax at the sandy part with sun beds or find a spot on the rocks and relax.

Best Beach Clubs in Paros
Paros does beach clubs in a relaxed and chill way. If you just want to spend a day relaxing, these are my favourite spots.
Cabana Beach Club – Stylish but chill
Monastiri Beach Club – Set near stunning coves
Punda Coast – More party energy

The Best Places to Stay in Santorini for Every Budget (By Village + Insider Tips)
The Best Places to Stay in Paros
There are a couple of nice villages you can choose to base yourself in, but my honest recommendation is to base yourself in Naoussa. It's easy to reach, has bus connections to every part of the island, nice beaches nearby and all the food and drink options you can dream of. On top of that it's one of the most charming places I've been to in Greece.

Best Restaurants in Paros
Yemeni Wine Restaurant - Creative Greek cuisine with a romantic atmosphere.
Barbarossa - Iconic harbor-front dining with seafood, wine, and great ambiance.
Siparos - Beachfront elegance with elevated Greek dishes.
Mario Restaurant - Authentic Italian with sunset views over the water.

How Many Days Do You Need in Paros?
Honestly, Paros is the kind of place that makes you cancel your next ferry, so no amount of time will probably feel enough. If you have a week, that's amazing, but if you're island hopping and just want to see the highlights of Paros, I think that 4 days is enough.

Is Paros Worth Visiting?
Yes absolutely! Especially if you want the Cyclades experience without extremes.
Paros gives you beaches, food, style, charm, and balance. It feels curated but still authentic. And that’s exactly why so many travelers say it ends up being their favourite island.
If you’re building a Cyclades itinerary, Paros pairs perfectly with Naxos for authenticity and Milos for dramatic landscapes.
I hope this helps you plan your upcoming adventure to charming Paros. If you have any questions about travel in Greece, or just want to follow along as I travel the world full time, don‘t hesitate to reach out to me on social media. I would love to connect and help out!
